Sport Valving - 16/13:1 Variable Steering Box

The ultimate in brute steering force for off-road vehicles. Originally developed for competition rockcrawlers, the ROCKRAM* system will improve the off-road and on-highway handling of any vehicle running larger tires. It works equally well on weekend trail riders, hardcore rockcrawlers or the four wheeler with large tires and a lift kit who rarely gets off-road but is fighting the wheel to get into a tight parking spot.

The ROCKRAM* system is engineered for any vehicle needing extra steering force to turn large tires or maneuver off-road and increases your steering force by 100% or more, yet still retains excellent handling characteristics for on-road driving.

The Ram cylinder servers as an added assist to the gearbox and as a powered steering stablizer, eliminating the need for a conventional steering stablizer. The Ram cylinder uses dynamic hydraulic pressure to control front-end movement, not just cushion it. This results in a smoother ride and increased tire life.

Option Definitions:

Ratios: The Rock Ram Kit can be ordered with either a 14:1 straight ratio or a 16:1/13:1 variable ratio. We recommend Variable Ratio for most on road and off-road applications and Straight Ratio for trucks that are primarily used off-road.

Valving: The Rock Ram Kit can be ordered with either Light Valving which provides the easiest steering with less road feel or Heavy Valving which provides firmer steering with more road feel. We recommend Light Valving for off-road/on-road use and Heavy Valving for trucks that are primarily used on-road. PS Pumps:

The Rock Ram Kit can be ordered with either a standard PS Pump which provides higher flow & volume than the factory pump or the HD Pump which also provides higher flow/volume and has Trust Shaft Bearings to provide extra support to strengthen the PS Pump Shaft. We recommend the HD Pump on all applications.
